Nina Stanczyk
Nina is currently a PhD student at Rothamsted Research in Harpenden, in collaboration with the University of Nottingham. Nina is one of the Royal Entomological Society’s trio of Post-Graduate Representatives who work to put the younger generation of entomological researchers in touch with each other and with senior researchers, and to involve them in the activities of the Society. Her research work is examining whether mosquitoes could become resistant to repellents and, if so, what the causes might be. Her entomological interests are in blood-sucking insects generally, and in how insects use the smells around them to locate and interact with their food. Nina used to be the owner of a cage of stick insects, but they migrated across to a friend’s desk and she now only has visitation rights.
