Dr David Booth

After completing a doctorate in insect behavioural ecology at the University of Sussex, David moved to Indonesia for a year’s break but fell in love with the place and has worked for some time now as a science teacher at an English medium school. A specialist in the ecology and behaviour of fireflies and glow-worms, David enjoys educating a new generation of entomologists in a nation where insects are often viewed negatively as pests. Resident in Bogor, West Java, David enjoys flitting around the Indonesian archipelago enjoying its rich insect diversity.

    Hi David
Im a coleopterist based in Sydney (contact details at Australian Museum) and I visit Bogor on an almost yearly basis (was there last Feb, visiting the Zoological Museum in Cibinong, en route for Sumatra). Might be good to catch up next time if you are interested. Im particularly interested in Chrysomelid systematics but I guess I can stoop to lampyrids!
