Dave Clarke

Dave is the Team Leader of Invertebrates at ZSL London Zoo. He’s responsible for the day-to-day running of both the BUGS exhibit and the tropical Butterfly Paradise walk-through. BUGS is a biodiversity and conservation exhibit that Dave helped to design 10 yeas ago. It houses over 170 species – including vertebrates ranging from fish to monkeys, but primarily insects and other incredible invertebrates, which are of course the most important! Dave says that the Zoo is now in a great position to highlight the significance of animals without backbones, and his primary interest is how it can continue to improve communication of this to its visitors. Although he is not a trained entomologist, he has been passionate about the subject since childhood and feels privileged to work with insects and other invertebrates.
